What is a stretch ceiling?
DESCOR® is a textile covering system from PONGS for ceilings, walls and panels. Fabric is tensioned within a supporting profile to create a smooth surface. The range includes acoustic fabrics, translucent materials for backlighting and options for individual colours or printed designs.
The starting point is the atmosphere you would like to create. That might mean an uninterrupted ceiling plane, more comfortable acoustics or light diffused across a surface. We explore those intentions with the design team and specialist suppliers, then establish a specification for the room.
Acoustics, light and the room.
Sound-absorbing textiles can form part of an acoustic treatment, while suitable translucent fabrics can diffuse light. Their performance depends on the chosen product and the complete installation. Ventilation, lighting and access to concealed services can be coordinated within the system.
We review the existing ceiling, room dimensions, proposed edges and positions of fittings together. The construction depth, supporting details and access requirements need to agree with the rest of the interior, including joinery and any features being retained.
