Design-led interiors.
Disciplined delivery.

A commercial fit-out is judged on more than its appearance. It must serve the business, support the people using it and translate the brand into a physical setting. Materials, lighting, display and circulation all contribute to that experience.

KBM Design and Build carries out the building work and coordinates the specialist fit-out with owners, occupiers and their designers. Procurement, lead times and site access are built into the programme, with the operational needs of the premises considered from the outset.

Retail interiors.

Boutique retail calls for exacting detail. The proportions of a display, the quality of its light and the surfaces surrounding a collection shape how it is perceived. We coordinate specialist fabrication and installation around that design intent.

At the Knightsbridge jeweller’s boutique, illuminated architectural onyx gives the space a distinct identity. At NU on King’s Road, pale surfaces and open views create a different setting for the merchandise.

Office refurbishment.

A considered workplace brings function and identity together. Layout, lighting, fitted storage and the character of shared areas are developed around the organisation and the people who use the space.

We coordinate the interior specification with building services and construction. Working hours, access and continued occupation inform the sequence, with the requirements of the premises established before the programme is agreed.

Salon interiors.

A salon combines a welcoming client environment with a precise working routine. Styling stations, wash areas, product displays and storage need to work as a single interior, with materials chosen for their appearance and practical use.

At Adem on Ebury Street, timber cabinetry, open display shelving and a tall fitted partition give the interior warmth while defining its different areas.

A well-prepared fit-out.

A shared understanding

We establish the design intentions, material choices and extent of the work with you and your team. Drawings and specifications give suppliers and trades a clear reference throughout construction.

A workable programme

Deliveries, access, working hours and the use of adjoining spaces all influence the order of the work. Bringing them into the discussion early helps you plan around the proposed fit-out.

Attention to the finish

Specialist fabrication and material lead times need to agree with the programme on site. We connect those decisions to installation, keeping the intended appearance in view as the work progresses.

Planning your project.

What commercial work does KBM undertake?

Our commercial service covers design-led retail interiors, office fit-out and refurbishment. The portfolio includes a Knightsbridge jeweller’s boutique, NU at King’s Road and Adem hair salon on Ebury Street.

Can work be discussed for an occupied property?

Yes. We would first discuss how the property is being used, permitted working hours and access. These help us plan the sequence and identify where protection, temporary arrangements or periods of closure may be needed.

What should an initial commercial enquiry include?

The location, type of business, approximate extent of the work and intended timing are useful starting points. Please also share any drawings, the design team’s details and whether the property will be occupied during the work.

Let’s shape
something enduring.

Whether you are at the earliest stage of a brief or ready to begin on site, we welcome a conversation. Every enquiry is handled personally.

Share your plans, drawings or initial ideas. We will discuss the property, the scope and the next steps towards a considered proposal.
